Joyce Faye Halstead
Born July 5, 1943 to Arthur and Sarah Jarrett in Sharon WV, went home with God on August 25, 2017 after a short illness.
Joyce attended East Bank High School. She was married to Gary Halstead for 31 years until his death in 1991. After his service in the US Navy, they made their home in Cabin Creek, WV.
She is survived by her brother Donnie Hartman (Sue) of Ashland Ky. Her children Marlena Jo Harris (John) of Charleston, WV; Gary A. Halstead(Tonia) of Cross Lanes.
Diana J. Burgess of Cabin Creek WV; and Sarah P Halstead of Cabin Creek. Her grandchildren are Heather Sergent (Jason);Travis Epperley, Michelle Pugh (Justin); Megan Burgess and Gary Dewayne Halstead. She was loved by many great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Virginia(Donnie)Bowe of Shrewsbury, WV and Betty(Robert) Smith of Brunswick GA.
She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She was an avid reader and loved movies. She was loved by all and she will be missed by so many whose lives she touched. The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions may be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, Charleston WV
Memorial Service will be held at Pryor funeral home on Tuesday August 29 with visitation to begin at noon and service to follow at 1pm with Brenda Grey officiating.
